Because he is. A troll is someone who purposely invokes anger into others, and that is exactly what he does. Therefore he is a troll by definition. I wouldn’t exactly call that “disgracing” him as a character… yeah…

A troll is a person on the internet who picks petty fights for fun. Yeah Hazama does indeed say some petty things, but usually the actions of a troll do not extend farther than that. And Hazama’s actions extend way farther than that. Hazama is not a petty troll, he’s a mass murderer. He’s a manipulator. He destroys peoples lives for fun, and he gets away with it. I’m pretty sure if that’s what a troll was, a lot of trolls would most likely be in jail.

Yes he does things that are “trollish” but if people’s first thought is “LOLOLOL TROLLZAMA” all the time, then I can’t help but wonder how much attention some people did indeed pay to BlazBlue’s story mode.

I totally skipped Blazblue’s storyline for the most part and I never got a “troll” vibe from him. He doesn’t say things to rile up the masses. Why would he? Doesn’t most of his objective require a lot of careful planning and some working behind the shadows? He can’t let his plan be known until the right moment, nor can he provoke any fights until the time is right. So him being a troll completely counter-acts his objective.

Also would like to throw in that the hatred of others also played a large part in maintaining his existence. Hate is a very powerful form of acknowledgement, and that’s what he needs. Hazama does indeed intentionally anger people, but it’s far beyond what a troll desires. Trolls seek entertainment. Hazama seeks life and the furthering of his goals. 

You guys take my rants and make them better.

Also Bre the only time Hazama really comes off as “trollish” is gag reels but those are far from canon events.

That’s what I thought. I’ll sit down and watch all of the cutscenes one day. They’re just so fucking long.

the reason a lot of people hate it

is because you get kids who live on tvtropes and make him out to be a god of trolling and you get a lot of this ridiculously misplaced hype around him and it’s really disgusting
